LARRY MULCRONE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE IDEOA LARRY MULCRONE SCHOLARSHIP YOU MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

1. This completed form

2. A typed essay consisting of 400-500 words, on one of the following topics:

A.) Describe in detail the effect of illicit drug use in the community in which you live. Include the effect it has on illicit drug users, first responders, healthcare providers, families and the entire community.
 

- OR -
 

B.) A number of states have moved to “legalize” marijuana for “medical” and/or recreational use, and some policy makers are discussing the possibility of “decriminalizing” personal use amounts of other deadly and addictive controlled substances. Please discuss potential, unintended consequences/threats that “decriminalization” of a variety of controlled substances – and the normalization of drug abuse - may have on the health and safety of the communities, families and children.


3. Add a page to the end of your essay with a complete list of your school and community activities/honors.

Attach your essay and activities page as one file to your application (maximum file size is 5 MB).

Applications must be received by September 01, 2023. 

Award recipients will be notified by September 15, 2023. 

An award check of $500 will be sent to the address provided upon notification. Checks will be made payable to the College/University.

Previous winners are not eligible to apply again.
